Off the clock

Music

I've been playing music about as long as I've been breathing. Three of those projects are on Spotify — a duo with my twin, and two bands from college and beyond. Press play.

The Kelson Twins

americana duo with my twin sister · 2012 — 2020

An americana duo with my twin sister, Madeleine. Featureing tight harmonies, poetic lyrics, and the awkward onstage banter only siblings can have. We started writing songs at 12 and playing Chicago clubs at 15, raised over $10K on Indiegogo for our debut EP, Best of (So Far), and cut a Daytrotter session along the way.

Geyser

Twin Cities band · indie / "angular pop"

A Twin Cities band of current (at the time) and former Macalester students. Indie-alternative, or "angular pop" if you ask the Mac Weekly. Original songs, a Midwest tour, and the album I was mixing in spring 2020 (which sneaks into the COVID Music essay).

Good Luck Alaska

A Minneapolis americana / indie-rock duo with Ryan, my Geyser bandmate since 2016, with haunting harmonies, and influences from Wilco to Sarah Jarosz to (sure) Slayer. Debut EP out now.
